Who are we ?
Blank is a fintech product tailored for freelancers and independent professionals in France and Italy, offering seamless online account setup, invoicing, expense management, automated tax declarations, and integrated professional insurance. Supported by Crédit Agricole, Blank is a one-stop shop for the rapidly growing global market of freelancers. Its mission is to democratize independent work to help fuel value creation in society.
Our Organization
The company was founded in 2020 and launched in 2021. The company now has about 100 employees in France and Italy.
Our executive team currently consists of:
- Simon Parisot, co-founder and CEO of Blank ;
- Charles-Henri Alloncle, co-founder and COO of Blank ;
- Sanae Raouaha, New Markets Director ;
- Alexandre Barret, Marketing director.
This new role (Chief Risk Officer) would be a fifth member of the executive team.
Why are we looking for a new C-Level?
The risk environment of Blank has changed:
- The entire sector (fintech) has been under increased scrutiny since 2023 (cf. numerous recent sanctions)
- We are observing a more risky environment in terms of fraud, cyber risk, and business risk (liquidations, payment defaults, etc.)
- Blank's growth leads to greater visibility with the regulator and its parent company Crédit Agricole.
- The expansion of Blank's activity scope to other countries and more critical activities (e.g., core banking system) leads to an increase and diversification of risk.
Blank must significantly strengthen its risk management organization, particularly by establishing a central direction via a Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
What would be your mission?
The CRO will be joining Blank's executive team. His/her objectives would be:
Risk Governance:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management mapping and strategy that takes into account the company's commercial objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and monitor an internal control system to ensure the management and monitoring of these risks through appropriate indicators.
- Be in constant interaction with key stakeholders in the compliance/internal control ecosystem in which Blank operates (Okali, La Fabrique, and Crédit Agricole group).
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the compliance of our activities with applicable regulatory obligations in each country, for our type of establishment and activity (AML, financial security, customer protection, payment regulation, etc.).
- Implement necessary changes with each regulatory evolution.
- Interact with regulatory agencies and authorities to inform, respond to inquiries, and maintain a proactive risk management approach.
Key risks within the scope (non-exhaustive):
- Payment platform: Identify and monitor risks associated with financial transactions, operational processes, and the internal management and development of our payment infrastructure.
- Customer-related risk: Assess risks associated with our business base and the type of clientele (small and medium enterprises).
- Fraud: Develop and implement advanced fraud detection and prevention measures, relying on internal expertise (fraud knowledge, data, machine learning, etc.).
- Key partners: Risks associated with their failure, malfunction, or other issues.
- Litigation and customer protection.
- ...
These objectives must be achieved by relying on the essential functions already present in the company, particularly teams specialized in fraud detection and management, compliance and legal, data and machine learning, finance, and operational efficiency.

Who are we looking for?
We are very open to different profiles and experience. The minimum we are looking for is:
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience
- A risk and compliance experience valued by industry stakeholders (regulators, Crédit Agricole internal control, etc.).
- Willing to work in a fast moving, fast growing small company like Blank. Meaning you are result-oriented, capable of quick decisions, hands-on, and able to judiciously balance risk and business.
- Proficient in English in a professional context

- Video interview with a few members of the executive team - 60 minutes
- A half-day of on-site interviews with a few key managers at Blank, including a situational exercise
